Why Great Photos Are Essential for Your Rental Listing
In vacation rentals, the photos do most of the selling. Guests can't visit before they book, so the images are what they use to decide. A listing with poor photos loses bookings to a comparable property with better ones, even if the actual space is nicer.
Good listing photos do two things: they help guests picture themselves in the space, and they justify the rate for guests who prioritize quality and comfort.
Three rules for photos that convert
- Show what guests will actually experience. Photograph the spaces they'll use most: the bedroom, the kitchen, the outdoor area, the view.
- Don't create false expectations. Accurate photos build trust. Misleading ones generate bad reviews.
- Keep them current. If you've redecorated or upgraded the property, update the photos. Outdated images undersell a better product.
